1.1 Modern slavery is a crime and a gross violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labor, debt bondage, child labor, and human trafficking — all of which involve the deprivation of liberty for personal or commercial exploitation.
1.2 Akili Ventures (“Akili”) is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not occur in our own operations or in our supply chains.
1.3 We are committed to transparency in tackling modern slavery, consistent with disclosure obligations under applicable laws (such as the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Australia’s Modern Slavery Act 2018).
1.4 We expect the same high standards from all contractors, suppliers, and business partners. Our contracts include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, bonded, trafficked, or child labor, and we expect our partners to hold their own suppliers to the same standards.
2.1 This policy applies to all persons working for Akili or on Akili’s behalf, in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, interns, agency workers, contractors, consultants, third-party representatives, and business partners.
3.1 Akili Ventures’ Legal team has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with this Policy.
